LES GARCONS BOUCHERS
Description
The “BYE FRANÇOIS” tribute tour honors François Hadji-Lazaro, who is not the singer of Garçons Bouchers but also an author, composer, designer, and multi-instrumentalist!
The Fête de l’Huma in Paris held a memorial service for François Hadji-Lazaro on September 16, 2023. He died on February 25, 2023. The musical “Tchao François” brought together former members of Pigalle and Garçons Bouchers, including Garçons Bouchers’ iconic singer Pierrot Sapu. The group made the decision to return to tour in order to disseminate this farewell after this poignant evening.
François’ most devoted and assertive lyrics, including “War,” “Black and White,” “Great this morning, I met God,” “Sale Gueule,” and “The old guys, we should throw them in the trash,” are interwoven with the group’s deeply punk entrails. The group’s 12-year career is punctuated by symbolic hymns like “La Bière,” “La Lambada we don’t like that,” “Carnivore,” and “Le Rap des Garçons Bouchers.”
Finally, the person who pays tribute to François also mentions a few songs by Pigalle and Los Carayos.
During the event, François will be featured as a guardian angel in a film that Pierre, François’ son, has created that traces the group’s journey.
Gaël Mesny (guitar), Benoit Simon (bass), Toto Rossi (trumpet), Stefff Gotkovski (saxophone), Jissé Batut (sound engineer), and Pierrot Sapu (vocals) make up the group.
